Here at the Heaney Quartet, we spent the holiday season preparing versions of our favorite Christmas carols. This version of the medieval carol O Come O Come Emmanuel is a particular favorite of mine. Enjoy!
Alban Berg dedicated his challenging concerto "to the memory of an angel" in honor of Manon Gropius, the eighteen-year-old daughter of Alma Mahler Werfel. The piece, written in two movements, speaks to Manon's life, her suffering and death, and ultimate peace.
On Monday, April 20, 2015, I performed Alban Berg's famous Violin Concerto with pianist Britton Day at Bettina Mussumeli's violin studio recital. The Examiner's Steve Smolier reviews. Click on the link to find out more!
November 16, 2013, marked the second concert in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music New Music Ensemble BluePrint series of the 2013-14 series. I performed Francis Poulenc's le Bal Masque with a small group of conservatory students and alumni under the baton of Nicole Paiement. The fourth movement of the work features a snarky violin solo that I was incredibly excited to perform. Stephen Smoliar wrote the following review for the San Francisco Examiner the next day. Enjoy!
